A new year of adventure is on the horizon again as 2014 brings more extraordinary travels for our TQ guests. Next year, we will proudly take groups to the literal ends of the Earth and on fantastic journeys in between. The 2014 lineup of tours, which has been years in the making, offers a great mix of renowned destinations and virtually uncharted territories. There is a TQ tour to cure every case of wanderlust.

The lineup includes:

Antarctic Expedition to the South Pole
January 1-11, 2014
An adventure that most only dream of, TravelQuest will take guests to the southernmost region of the world in its fifth journey to the South Pole. Guests will start off the New Year with 11 days in the same pristine expanse that has been touched by few since the original expeditions over a century ago. Trip highlights include: four nights’ accommodations in Chile’s Patagonia region to visit a coastal colony of more than 10,000 Magellanic penguins, a flight into the heart of Antarctica with transportation to basecamp at Union Glacier (79°S) and an overnight at the South Pole (90°S).

Costa Rica Southern Sky Party
March 1-8, 2014
With inviting tropical weather, abundant wildlife and open skies as far as the eye can see, Costa Rica is prime territory for astronomy buffs and leisure travelers alike. The weeklong escape will feature five uninterrupted evenings of southern sky stargazing led by astronomer Gary Seronik from the grounds of a private lodge reserved solely for TQ guests. Activities include horseback riding, wildlife viewing, boating, massage or simply relaxing in a private paradise.

Iceland: Fire, Ice and Aurora
March 23-30, 2014
Enjoy an unparalleled viewing trip to one of Earth’s natural wonders: the Aurora Borealis. Under the leadership of TravelQuest astronomer Gary Seronik, the group will bask in five nights of relaxed, awe-inspiring aurora viewings in the picturesque icy landscape of Iceland. Unlike many tour companies venturing to the area, TravelQuest guests will enjoy the northern lights just steps from their hotel room door. During the day, folks can explore the country’s capital city, Reykjavik, venture to breathtaking waterfalls, geysers, and glaciers, and even take a dip in local hot springs.

Spain & France: Cave Art, Wine and Cuisine
May 4-16, 2014
A cultural immersion that is not to be missed, TQ leads guests through historic relics and modern luxuries of Spain and France. Enjoy expert guided tours of cave art sites including Peche Merle and Niaux Caves, which feature miraculously preserved artworks from 25,000 years ago. Guests will also sip and savor delicacies through the wine regions of Bordeaux and La Rioja before returning to accommodations in medieval villages of Santillana del Mar in Spain and Les Eyzies in France. As if that wasn’t good enough, we are wrapping up the adventure in Barcelona!

Arctic North Pole Expedition Cruise
June 18 – July 2, 2014
TQ is capping off the year with a journey to the opposite end of the Earth, the Arctic North Pole. The 15-day voyage takes place in comfort aboard the nuclear powered icebreaker, 50 Years of Victory, which accommodates only 128 guests. The ship will journey from Murmansk, Russia to the geographic North Pole allowing guests to literally stand on top of the world.
