Let’s have an eclipse adventure of a lifetime… together!
The evolution of TravelQuest International is a story that stretches back nearly four decades.
When I was very young, my father, Yervant Kaprielian – Edward to his friends and clients – owned a travel agency in Milwaukee, Bay Travel Mart. Then in 1970 he moved our family west to San Diego, where he founded a group tour company called Travel Bug International.
In 1982, after some university studies and travels through Europe and across the USA, I started working with my father. Initially we operated tours in Southern California, but over time the business evolved to reflect our personal interests – in my case, a fascination for astronomy, archeology and natural history. Travel Bug was soon a leader in educational group travel.
Years passed, my father eventually retired, and in 1996 Travel Bug became TravelQuest. Today we’re proud to be recognized as one of the world’s most successful astronomical tour companies. Whether chasing the elusive aurora borealis or sharing the spectacle of a total solar eclipse, we take our clients to the best spots on the planet to experience astronomical wonders – from the North Pole to the South Pole and across Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas.
Creating unique travel experiences
TravelQuest has developed a loyal following; on most tours, at least half of our guests have traveled with us before. We’re proud of that loyalty, because it means people appreciate the enthusiasm and attention to detail that we bring to crafting and operating each unique adventure. The travelers who join us are from all walks of life. And while we cater primarily to a North American clientele, we regularly welcome people from every corner of the globe.
On a TravelQuest tour you explore the world with fellow travelers who share a deep passion and respect for nature. At the same time, you enjoy a worry-free travel experience, because we look after all the research, planning and logistics. For each destination, we find the perfect balance of high-quality accommodations, great meals and comfortable transport. Our expert guides are among the best in the eclipse travel industry, and our local contacts open doors to sights and events that in many cases would be inaccessible to independent travelers.
Where are we heading next?
In addition to our constantly growing lineup of astronomical and eclipse tours, TravelQuest is developing new programs in areas such as archeology and geology. We’re also designing itineraries to explore the unique cultural dimensions of some of the world’s less-traveled places.
Wherever we set our sights, we know the journey will continue to be as intriguing as the people who travel with us – because at the end of the day, the TravelQuest story is their story. We look forward to becoming part of your story as well.
Let the adventure begin.
Best regards,
