Faroe Islands Total Solar Eclipse

I arrived before the TQ group and had four days to find an observing site. After driving up and down three of the Faroe Islands, I settled on the Vagar airport hotel (on Vagar Island) because — based on weather advice from Jay Anderson — it was about as far west as we could go. Amazingly, despite days of constant bad weather, we saw 68 seconds of totality (out of a possible 2m 16 sec) before the clouds wiped us out. Given that the odds of seeing the eclipse were slim, and that most people/groups in the Faroes didn’t see totality, we were very fortunate.
