We’ll also spend time in the charming medieval villages of Santillana del Mar in Spain, and Les Eyzies, La Rocque and Sarlat in France—all the while enjoying the local customs and cuisine these regions are famous for.
We will spend at least two nights in most towns we visit, to really savor their ambience. In the larger cities of Madrid and Bordeaux, we will stay in modern 3-4 star hotels, while during the rest of our journey through the idyllic countryside, we will stay at small inns and guest houses, offering pleasing country-style accommodations.
